Desert Fetish Authority News

This Friday: Discussion Group

This Friday, December 12 is the second Friday of the month, which means that it's time once again for our Discussion Group. In the past, we’ve talked about stuff like fantasies, first kink/BDSM experiences, leather families, BDSM etiquette/safeguards and many other subjects. Discussion topics vary based on the desires of the participants on any given evening.

The Discussion Group convenes on the second and fourth Fridays of the month at 7:30 in the LGBT Center's Belardo Building (aka Food Bank), located behind the Sun Center at 610 South Belardo Road, Suite 500.

Because of the Christmas holiday, there will be no fourth-Friday session this month. Join us next on January 9.

“Reach out on Recon” Awareness Campaign

DFA exists to bring kinky guys together in real-life settings away from internet hook-up sites, but that doesn’t mean we can’t harness the power of our web profiles to tell guys about our brotherhood.

If you’ve got a Recon account, join our new awareness campaign as a DFA Ambassador. It’s easy! Just throw a few extra words into your profile!

• Add this into your profile title:

Ask me how DFA makes kink happen in the Desert.

• And add this to the bottom of your “About Me” section:

DFA = Desert Fetish Authority, a crowd-sourced brotherhood of guys who organize and support kinky play and education.  Add dot com to the name or ask me about DFA.

Leave the rest of your profile alone. After all, there’s no reason you can’t be a leader AND your pervy self!

BTW, we picked Recon because it’s a kinky site that’s widely used in the Desert. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t do something similar on another favorite profile site!

This awareness campaign was incubated at a couple of our recent Idea Lab sessions. Got an idea about something you’d like to do? Join us at one!

January Idea Lab Date Change

And speaking of Idea Labs...

The first Thursday in January is New Year’s Day, so next month’s Idea Lab will be January 8 instead. Join us! In addition to the regular stuff, we’ll be making plans for our Third Anniversary Party.

Season’s Greetings!

This will be our last newsletter until the New Year.

Whatever and however you celebrate this season, here’s hoping that you’re surrounded by those you love! Best wishes for Happy Holidays and a Geared-Up 2015!
