Brainstorming Follow-Up

Last Saturday, November 17, two dozen DFA men gathered at Stefen and Ray's house for a potluck dinner and brainstorming session to solicit ideas for future DFA events and activities. It was a night of great food and friendship, and a big list of creative ideas was generated!

In fact, there was so much wonderful discussion and fellowship that we never got around to the final part of the meeting, which was to ask volunteers to champion their favorite ideas and help bring them to fruition. To finish that work, Brett and Tom have agreed to host a follow-up gathering at their place this coming Saturday, December 2 at 10 am. Come prepared to sign up to work on one or more projects!

Plan on attending? Please RSVP to Tom at for directions.

Did you miss the brainstorming session and want to know what's been discussed so far? Check out this summary document.

Is there something that you’re interested in that’s not on the list? Create your own project! Remember, anyone can always organize activities that fit within our vision!

Bear Weekend Palm Springs

It’s Thanksgiving Weekend, and that means hundreds of bears have descended upon the Desert for Bear Weekend Palm Springs, Castrobear’s annual celebration of furry, masculine fun. Of particular interest to DFA guys might be Sweat @ Cub Meat, this year’s super combination of the annual Sweat Party with our local monthly Cub Meat Dance Party (organized by our very own Christian Calson!).

Join the cast of Where the Bears Are and DJ George Roussos for amazing music and hot, sweaty dancing tomorrow (Saturday, November 24) from 10 pm – 4 am at this month’s special venue, Level 2 Bar and Nightclub in Cathedral City. Admission is $10 with your weekend tag or $20 without.

Congratulations Scott!

Scott Smith was sashed as Mr. Palms Springs Leather 2013 at the Palm Springs Convention Center on November 10. When asked to list his affiliations, he included our very own Desert Fetish Authority! It’s awesome that we’ve been around for less than a year, but still got a shout out on Leather Pride’s big stage. Congratulations Scott! We hope you have a fantastic year!
